Métis Dot Art
Workshop
Learn how to paint Métis beadwork designs
using dot art techniques.

Facilitated by Michelle Bucholtz
Michelle Bucholtz is a Michif Métis visual artist, workshop facilitator, and Registered Therapeutic Counsellor who weaves Indigenous cultural teachings with therapeutic practice. She designs experiential workshops that blend storytelling, emotional regulation tools, relational practices, and contemporary dot art paintings inspired by traditional Métis beadwork designs.
Her work invites reflection, curiosity, and gentle humour, grounded in presence and the creative process.

Who are the Métis people?
The Métis are one of the three recognized Indigenous peoples in Canada, with a distinct culture, history, and language shaped through a unique ethnogenesis—emerging from relationships between Indigenous and European ancestors, particularly in the Red River region. Métis culture is deeply connected to community, storytelling, and the land, with beadwork and floral designs holding cultural and historical significance.

Healing Through Art
These workshops provide professional development and team support through education, reflection, and relational practices. They are not intended as psychotherapy, counselling, or crisis intervention services.
